It’s officially June. Check out these summer events held on and around the Upper West Side, all just a short walk or train ride away from Hotel Beacon.

SummerStage Concert Series

June 1- Sept. 24
Central Park and other public spaces throughout New York City host a mix of live performance nearly every night of the week, all summer long. The majority of events are free. Take a look at the upcoming schedule for SummerStage 2019.

Japan Sweets Festival

June 9
No other country makes dessert quite as playful and colorful as Japan. As part of JAPANFes, over 10 vendors are expected to offer sweets on Upper West Side at Broadway and 73-74th Streets on June 9. No entrance fee. See details.

NYC Pride 2019

June
The month of pride brings colorful events across the five boroughs for the entire month of June. This year’s programming is especially significant because it marks 50 years since the historic Stonewall riots. The parade is set for June 30 at the intersections of Fifth Avenue and 26th Street, marching down to Eighth Street. See the entire event calendar here.

Summer on the Hudson

May through September
Kids’ concerts, yoga, sun gazing, silent disco and live music are planned for the month of June on the green space of Riverside Park (from 59th to 153rd Street along the Hudson River). All events are free and open to the public! Check out the event calendar to see what’s going on in June.

Films on the Green

May 31 to Sept. 3
Films on the Green is an annual free movie screening program that takes place in public spaces, such as Riverside Park, Central Park, and Columbia University. This year, the program will focus on French female filmmakers. See the schedule.

Symphony Space Singalongs

June 8 & 23
Theater nerds or those who love to belt along to musical classics can enjoy a summer series of singalongs at Symphony Space, a multi-disciplinary performing arts center located at 2537 Broadway and 95th Street. This June, sing along to Chicago and Hair in a totally non-judgmental space. Tickets are $13 for members, $15 for non-members and $14 for seniors. See details.
