Easter isn’t celebrated as widely as the other main holidays are in New York, however if you’re looking for something to do over the Easter weekend there is still plenty to find – especially if you’re travelling as a family.

Trinity Grace Church Easter Egg Hunt

What is Easter without a proper Easter egg hunt? Trinity Church is hosting this years’ egg hunt in Prospect Park. To comply with COVID recommendations and keep everyone safe, participants are invited to find and photograph posters – once they have all been found kids will receive a goodie bag to take home.  

Easter Fun Day Cruise 

On Sunday the 4th of April, you can take part in the Easter Fun Day Cruise.The boat trip offers views of the city, as well as family-favorite Easter activities including an Easter egg hunt, Easter basket decorating, the chance to meet the Easter Bunny and face painting. An optional brunch menu with drinks (alcoholic for the adults) is also available – tickets need to be booked in advance to avoid disappointment.  

NYC Bonnet Parade  

Perhaps the biggest event to enjoy at Easter is the Bonnet Parade on 5th Avenue. On Easter Sunday the parade will begin at 10am on 49th street, lasting at least five hours. You don’t need a bonnet to participate – but we find it’s more fun if you do get involved. Thousands of visitors attend the event every year to see the latest bonnets and costumes.
