Turning Business into Pleasure on your Next Business Trip to New York

January 29 2024

Are you traveling to New York for a business trip? It doesn’t have to be all work with no play. Whether you’re here for 24 hours, a couple of days, or even a week – there are plenty of ways to mix business with pleasure in the city that never sleeps.

But how do you make your trip more than just meetings and conferences?

NYC Landmarks

No matter where you are in the city, you’re never too far from one of the city’s famous landmarks. Whether it’s the Statue of Liberty (get up close and personal for free on the Staten Island ferry), the Empire State, or the Brooklyn Bridge – you’re always close to something special.

Instead of heading straight back to your hotel after your work day, why not visit some of New York’s many landmarks?

A Gym with a Difference

New York is home to almost 30 acres of green space – a lot more than you would expect for one of the world’s most populated cities. If you’re hoping to keep up with your workout plans while you’re in the city – skip the hotel gym and head to one of New York City’s many green spaces instead.

Central Park obviously gets a mention – but it’s not the only place in the city to enjoy the great outdoors. Hudson River Park is home to a 4.5-mile trail along the waterfront, offering spectacular views across the river and over both Brooklyn and Manhattan. As we move into spring, the cherry blossom park is one of the best places in the city to escape the hustle and bustle and really get lost in your morning run.

Alfresco Lunches

While New York isn’t warm enough for a picnic in the park at this time of year (depending on how brave you are of course!), there are still plenty of places to enjoy a quick snack in the sunshine when it does come out.

From covered rooftops with panoramic views to quirky street-side cafes with outside heating – there is no reason not to sit down and enjoy a leisurely lunch between meetings while watching the world go round.

Wining and Dining

New York is a city full of restaurants – and you can find just about any cuisine in the world. Take advantage of your evenings off and sample some of the amazing food the Big Apple has to offer. From fine dining to food trucks – there is always something amazing to eat in New York.

Enjoy your Evenings

Whether it’s a Broadway show, a night cruise on the river Hudson, or simply a visit to one of the city’s many viewing platforms – there are plenty of ways to optimize your free time in the evenings. New York is the city that never sleeps after all, why not make the most of it?
