Broadway Under the Stars

November 07 2022

Love the theatre? If you’re looking for something different to do this winter in New York, Broadway Under the Stars is a great place to start. Beginning earlier this month with Chicago and A Strange Loop, the Broadway series is already off to a great start.

Running on select Wednesdays at 5 pm over the following few weeks, the concert series is being held at The Shops at Columbus Circle. The event is completely free, and you don’t need tickets to attend – however, we recommend getting there as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

The Phantom of the Opera – December 7th

The Phantom on the Opera, running at the Majestic Theatre for over 95 years, is due to end its run on Broadway in February 2023 – and what a way to say goodbye. The Phantom of the Opera has been performed in 35 countries and 166 cities throughout the world, making it one of the most famous shows on the planet.

Tickets for the final performances at the Majestic are selling out fast. If you want one last chance to see the iconic songs from the show, don’t miss the performance at Broadway Under the Stars.

Kimberly Akimbo – December 7th

Kimberly Akimbo recently debuted on Broadway and has already been selected for a New York Times Critic Pick. The musical follows the story of a young girl who looks like a 72-year-old woman and is currently being performed at the Booth Theatre on Broadway. The show is described as “profoundly funny and heartbreaking new nerdical” – a must-see for theatre lovers in New York.

Unlike previous years when the shows have been confirmed in advance, The Shops at Columbus recommended following their Instagram page for last-minute reveals!

Once the show is over – don’t run home. The Shops at Columbus Circle are a great place to experience the holiday spirit. Enjoy a bite to eat, try a Christmas cocktail, or visit the many stores to get a head start on your holiday shopping.

Holiday decorations, lights, and the 14-foot stars are up, in fact – Holiday Under the Stars is the world’s largest exhibit of illuminated color mixing in the world. A great evening out for the whole family to enjoy.
