The Best Places to find Brunch in New York City

May 30 2022

There is something special about long, lazy brunches that only vacations allow you to enjoy. If you’re visiting New York, there are plenty of locations to find a big breakfast to indulge yourself with. Whether you’re looking for a casual, hearty feast or an upscale affair with bottomless drinks - there is something for everyone, and all within a manageable distance of the Hotel Beacon.

The Blue Dog: Brunch Menu

An indulgent breakfast doesn’t have to be bad for you, and since 2006 The Blue Dog have provided a great, healthy breakfast. Using only locally sourced ingredients, natural proteins, and sustainable practices (where possible) to create one of the most popular places for Brunch in the city. The restaurant is family run, using the owner’s grandmother’s recipes – adapted to be healthier – and they promise nothing is frozen, nothing is processed, and everything is homemade.

You can find the restaurant in Chelsea, less than a 30-minute walk from the Hotel Beacon or just over 10 minutes using public transport.

Clinton St. Baking Company: Brunch Menu

Serving the Lower East Side great breakfast for over 20 years the Clinton St. Bakery was opened in 2001 with the mission of making “the best muffins and scones in the city”. The restaurant went on to win the title of best pancakes in town by the New York Magazine and quickly became one of the LES’s most popular hangout spots - attracting locals, artists, business owners and tourists for the award-winning brunches.

The restaurant is on the Lower East Side and will take around 30 minutes on the subway from the Hotel Beacon.

Banter NYC: Brunch Menu

Located in the heart of Greenwich Village, Banter was opened to provide a “sanctuary” for anyone in the city to escape to for “great food, great coffee and great banter”. The restaurant was opened in 2016 and has quickly built a solid reputation as one of the city’s best breakfast spots, allowing them to open a second location in the West Village. If you’re looking for a traditional American breakfast, with a modern twist – give Banter a visit.

Banter in Greenwich is closer to the Hotel Beacon and will take just 20 minutes on the subway.

Queensyard: Brunch Menu

One thing the Brits do well is a Full English Breakfast and if you’re looking for one in New York, the Queensyard should not be missed. Offering the classic British breakfast, alongside other British and international dishes, the restaurant describes itself as “a touch of British flair with tweaks that appeal to New Yorker's tastes”. As well as the restaurant, there is a “secret garden” serving a huge range of cocktails now that summer is on its way and alfresco dining is back!

The Queensyard is located in the Hudson Yards overlooking the Hudson River – you can reach the restaurant in under 25 minutes on public transport from the Hotel Beacon.

Victory Sweet Shop: Brunch Menu

Looking for an international breakfast, rather than the regular brunch offerings in New York? Victory Sweet Shop is a Greek Style restaurant and bakery offering indoor and outdoor eating in the heart of the city. As well as Greek and other European dishes, you can also find classics such as a BLT and French Toast. As well as brunch, the Victory Sweet Shop is home to a fully licensed bar, a large cocktail list and a daily happy hour at 6pm.

The Victory Sweet shop is about 45 minutes from the Hotel Beacon – but it’s worth the extra journey time especially if you stay for cocktails!
